Ingredients

- 3 lbs boneless beef chuck roast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup red wine or 1/4 cup beef broth
- 1 envelope brown gravy mix
- 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup cold water
Recipe
- 1 place roast in 5 qt slow cooker.
- 2 sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- 3 in a bowl, combine the water, ketchup, wine or broth, gravy mix, mustard, worcestershire sauce and garlic powder; pour over meat.
- 4 cover and cook on low for 9-10 hours or until meat is tender.
- 5 combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth.
- 6 stir into slow cooker.
- 7 cover and cook on high for 30 minutes or until gravy is thickened.
- 8 remove meat from slow cooker.
- 9 slice and serve with gravy.
