Zesty Italian Wontons

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces bulk italian sausage
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 40 wonton wrappers
  • marinara sauce

Recipe

  • 1 filling: in large skillet brown sausage and onion, breaking suasage into small pieces.
  • 2 drain all fat from pan.
  • 3 cool meat mixture.
  • 4 stir in cheeses and parsley.
  • 5 assembly: place a rounded teaspoon of filling into one corner of wrapper.
  • 6 moisten edges with water.
  • 7 fold wrapper over and seal edges together forming a triangle.
  • 8 bring two points over the center and cross.
  • 9 moisten and press together.
  • 10 cover and chill or freeze if not frying immediately.
  • 11 fry wontons a few at a time in deep hot oil until golden brown.
  • 12 drain on paper towels.
  • 13 serve with warm marinara sauce.
