Tacos Picadillo

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 3/4 lb ground lamb
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can mexican-style stewed tomatoes with jalapeno peppers (delmonte)
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/3 cup chopped toasted almond
  • 6 flour tortillas
  • lettuce (optional)
  • cilantro (optional)
  • sour cream (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 over medium-high heat, brown lamb, onion and spices.
  • 2 salt and pepper if desired.
  • 3 add tomatoes and raisins.
  • 4 cook covered about 10 minutes.
  • 5 remove cover and cook an additional 5 minutes or until thickened, stir occasionally.
  • 6 add almonds just before serving.
  • 7 spoon mixture over tortillas and roll.
  • 8 garnish with lettuce, cilantro and sour cream if desired.
