Turkey Picadillo

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup chopped granny smith apple
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons thinly sliced pimento stuffed olives
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • hot cooked rice
  • toasted almond (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 cook and stir turkey, onion, green pepper, and garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the turkey is no longer pink.
  • 2 stir in the tomatoes, apples, raisins, olives, sugar, cumin, cinnamon and cloves. bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 3 serve over rice and garnish with toasted almonds.
