Yorkshire Beef Pie

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup cooked vegetables
  • 1 (10 1/4 ounce) can beef gravy
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 in a large skillet, cook beef and onion until beef is browned; drain.
  • 2 add vegetables and 1/4 cup gravy.
  • 3 stir water and worcestershire sauce into remaining gravy; set aside.
  • 4 in a 10-inch pie plate, place butter and put into a 425°f oven.
  • 5 in a small bowl combine milk and eggs, add flour salt and pepper; beat until smooth.
  • 6 when butter is melted remove from the oven add the egg mixture into the hot dish.
  • 7 spoon meat mixture evenly over bottom, keeping 1 inch from the edge.
  • 8 return to oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until browned and puffed.
  • 9 heat gravy and pass with the pie.
