Sweet And Sour Chicken

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 -2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup corn oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1/2 cup distilled vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Recipe

  • 1 lightly season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  • 2 dip the chicken pieces into the corn starch to coat. then dip into the eggs.
  • 3 heat a large frying pan on medium/high with corn oil.
  • 4 preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 5 pan fry the chicken pieces until browned on both side, but not cooked through.
  • 6 place all the browned chicken pieces in a 9x13" baking dish.
  • 7 whisk all the sweet and sour sauce ingredients together in a small bowl and pour evenly over the chicken pieces in the baking dish.
  • 8 bake for one hour and stir the chicken pieces every 15 minutes during baking.
