Weisswurst In Beer

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb weisswurst sausage
  • 2 onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 cups well drained sauerkraut
  • 2 cups beer
  • 2 granny smith apples, cored and sliced freshly grated nutmeg salt and pepper to taste

Recipe

  • 1 sear sausages in a large hot frypan with little or no fat added.
  • 2 drain off any accumulated fat.
  • 3 spread onions and sauerkraut over sausages and add beer.
  • 4 cover and reduce heat to medium.
  • 5 cook about 15 to 20 minutes or until sausages are cooked through and onions are just soft.
  • 6 add apple slices and seasonings to taste.
  • 7 recover and cook 2 minutes more.
  • 8 serve at once.
